Welcome Brochure:
This is an example of a brochure that I would give to parents as part of a welcome packet and the beginning of the school year or at curriculum night. My hope is that this would allow them to get to know both me and my teaching style. It would also provide a quick and easy way to answer questions they may have about my classroom!

Parent Newsletters:
During my student teaching, I created and sent weekly newsletters to parents. These newsletters included important dates/updates, news about the classroom (such as Star of the Week) and detailed accounts of what we were covering in each subject area for the upcoming week. I have included a sample of a weekly newsletter below.

Classroom Website:
I created a classroom website during my student teaching. My goal was to create a website that would help parents and students stay actively involved and make things easier for everyone all around! I included things such as the weekly spelling words, websites for students and parents, special schedules, weekly homework assignments, and much more! The link to the website is included below.

Emails to Parents:
I think one of the most effective ways to communicate with parents is through email! In these busy days, most parents are viewing emails at work or on their phone and it is the quickest way to get a hold of someone.
Below is an email I sent to parents outlining certain math strategies that the students learned that day. I was concerned that the homework would be confusing for some students (and parents!) so I wanted them to have a resource to use. A response from a parent is also included.

Below is an email I sent to a parent to update her about the status of her son's new exercise ball - I had recently replaced his chair with an exercise ball to help with his hyperactivity in the classroom. I was very excited to tell her about the success the ball seemed to have! Her response is also included.

Below is an email I sent in response to an interaction I had with a parent the day before. This parent was concerned because her daughter was upset about having to attend a before-school math academy and she wanted to know if there was any way to modify the program for her daughter (note: her daughter was a very high achieving student). A response from the parent is also included.
